Kinkaku-ji (Temple of the Golden Pavilion)

Kinkaku-ji, a well-known temple in Kyoto, was the next stop on our tour of Osaka and Kyoto.  The temple is located in a beautiful garden and the top two stories are covered in pure gold leaf.

Everyone was looking their best in the nice weather (warm temps, light rain and very high humidity). :)

The best way to travel around Kyoto is by city bus.  It’s not always the fastest form of transportation around the city, but since the train system is limited…it’s just about the only option if you don’t have a car!

The photo on the right is the ‘ticket’ we received after paying (approximately) $4.00 per person to enter the temple.
