Uncle Fred…

I can honestly say that I’ve never met anyone like Shawn’s Uncle Fred.  Fred was someone who lived a life to the fullest…someone who treated his family like gold…someone who always had a story to tell (to varying degrees of accuracy)…and someone you would never forget after meeting.  I think the quote by Mark Twain is a perfect representation of how Fred lived his life!

Shawn’s Aunt and Uncle took Shawn and his siblings on a number of incredible vacations.  The memories from these trips cover the walls in a room at Shawn’s parents house and there is always a good story behind each photo.

Seven years ago, I was fortunate enough to experience one of these trips.  For 10 days, Fred chartered a yacht and we sailed around Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada).  We visited well-known tourist locations like Victoria and Vancouver, as well as smaller islands that you can only get to by boat or plane (Salt Spring Island, Nanaimo, Ganges Island).  This was such a memorable vacation and I wanted to share a few of the old film photos I took during the trip.
