Singapore |::| Part 1

In May, we took a short trip to Singapore to enjoy the sites.  Singapore is a highly developed ‘city-state’, located at the southern tip of Malaysia.  Singapore is only 85 miles north of the equator, so the temperatures are always hot and humid!  The population of Singapore is extremely diverse, but English is a dominate language.  This made for very easy communication and transportation!

The Singapore Art Museum is shown below.  We did not go inside the museum…rather, we just hid out in a covered area while sudden rain shower was coming down!

The back side of the famous Raffles Hotel.

For 131 years, Chijmes served as the home of a cloistered convent in Singapore.  Today, the chapel is now known as Chijmes Hall and serves as a multi-purpose hall for musicals, recitals and weddings.  The grounds surrounding the hall are filled with small shops.

A few photos from the Colonial District…
