Shinjuku Gyoen – Part 2

Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden was completed in 1906 and originally served as the residence of Lord Naito – during the Edo era. After World War II, the garden was redesigned and opened to the public. (An excellent decision!)

A traditional Japanese garden, a formal French garden, and an English landscape garden cover the 144 acres of Shinjuku Gyoen. Even though the park is located in the middle of Tokyo, it is a perfect escape from the city. I don’t think I will ever get tired of taking pictures here!
